Tell the Obama Administration to End the Institutional Bias!


President Obama and Vice President Biden have both sponsored annual introductions of the Community Choice Act in recent years, which allows people with significant disabilities the choice of living in their community, rather than having to live in a nursing home or other institution.

Senator Barack Obama – October 1, 2008 – Regarding the Community Choice Act:

"[t]his legislation is vitally important to the independence, community integration, and equality of hundreds of thousands of Americans with disabilities." It will help to empower them "to take full advantage of their talents" and "ensure that everyone can live independently as full citizens in their communities."


Now that they are in the White House, it's time for them to live up to their previous commitments and make sure this is the year our nation finally ends the institutional bias.
